Meet Kona, our office’s Chief Barkceptionist here at McDonald Homes! Kona joined the team with zero experience in office protocol, but plenty of personality to make up for it. As our head of first impressions, she is always on the lookout for new faces, ready to greet them with a wagging tail, an enthusiastic bark, and the occasional floppy ear for effect. Kona may not have a desk, but she has a natural presence that makes everyone feel like the most important guest in the room. With an expertise in “pawsitive” energy and “pup-lick” relations, she’s a natural when it comes to making everyone feel welcome. When she’s not working hard in the office, Kona loves running around, stealing toys, and relaxing in her favorite sunbeam. Whether you’re here for business or just to give her a belly rub, Kona’s your gal!

David McDonald
Owner/ President
David is an experienced and highly skilled home builder with over 23 years in the construction industry. Specializing in residential homes, he brings a passion for quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. With a strong foundation in project management and land development, David has successfully completed subdivision development and numerous custom home builds earning a reputation for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. David and his Team work closely with clients to understand their vision, offering expert advice and tailored solutions to meet both functional and aesthetic goals. From the initial design phase through to the final walk-through, he ensures a seamless and stress-free building experience. David takes pride in using only the best materials and working with trusted subcontractors to achieve exceptional results. Known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication to every project, he has built lasting relationships with clients, architects, and suppliers. John Toland
Customer Service/ Warranty Manager
John Toland grew up in the city of Toronto and started his work life in a completely different field spending 10 year in Sales and Marketing roles before merging his passion with his profession. Now, with over 20 years in the construction industry, John has handled everything from small homes to larger commercial projects. Whether it’s working with clients, managing timelines, or solving problems on the fly, he gets things done with a mix of hands-on experience and solid know-how. John is detail-oriented and resourceful, and he knows the ins and outs of new home builds, repairs, and the Tarion New Home warranty. Above all, he is all about making sure customers are happy whenever possible and that the job gets done right, on time, and to a high standard. John is easy to work with and comfortable talking to anyone in any situation, and he will strive to keep projects running smoothly and always focuses on delivering quality work that clients can count on.

Jennifer McCleery
Project Coordination & Drafting Manager
Jennifer is a dedicated professional with 17 years of experience in the architectural and construction industry, driven by a passion for transforming visions into reality. After earning a diploma in Architectural Technology and a certificate in Interior Decorating, she began her career as an Architectural Technologist at a prominent architectural firm. However, her true calling emerged a few years later when she decided to specialize in residential construction, leading her to join the McDonald Homes team. As the Project Coordinator and Draftsperson Manager, Jennifer has coordinated hundreds of builds. She seamlessly bridges design and construction, collaborating closely with homeowners, colleagues, and subtrades to bring innovative ideas to life. With a deep commitment to understanding and prioritizing our clients’ unique needs, Jennifer is dedicated to delivering homes that are as extraordinary as the people who live in them.

Bailey Chaput – Stratton
Senior Project Coordinator/Draftsperson
Bailey, originally from Pembroke, Ontario, was introduced to the construction industry early, growing up in a family of general contractors. This early exposure ignited her passion for the field. After earning her Architectural Technologist advanced diploma with honors from Loyalist College in 2016. Bailey has built a strong career in residential construction, gaining valuable experience as a draftsperson, project manager, and project coordinator. Known for her expertise and approachable nature, Bailey is committed to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that every project runs smoothly.
